I'm probably just adding to a large publicity stunt, but this made me chuckle!!

"things that vex me" #9056

#9056 - Blockbuster. Specifically the cashiers at Blockbuster. when you rent a movie, they insist on calling out the names of the movies that you are renting. this is supposed to be a check so that you do not pay for movies that you do not want to rent. this would be more of a problem if they offered porn, but they don't. instead i get flushed in the face when the girl calls out loudly, "so we've got "Goodburger", and "Dora The Explorer: The complete second season." I don't need the randos behind me knowing that i am renting said films, thank you very much! Also, if one is too blind to read a title on the cover of the dvd, then said person has no reason trying to watch a movie. Therefore, miss teenybopper behind the counter, keep your mouth shut and hurry up!

MORE CHAOS!!

i'm not sure i've stopped moving since three weeks ago. monday i found out there was a blowout on a well, spewing radioactive gas, oil, and water all over location. on top of that we had problems with another company, and so i had to travel to Utah to assist in dealing with these issues. i got back from the morman state wednesday evening, just in time to catch the Tool concert.

man, what an effing show!! 2.5 hours of live Tool, complete with fantastic lightshow/visual aids. it was in an open air amphitheater (much like SPAC only no roof). i was originally worried that they were going to play mostly their newer stuff, of which i am not as huge a fan as their first three albums, but they rocked out all the classics. their set list included stinkfist, 46&2, opiate, lateralus, the pot, prison sex, intolerance, sober, & undertow amongst others. Maynard was his typical scrawny wierd self. Danny Carey had some ridiculous drum solos. at the end of the set, the members just sat in the middle of the stage, taking in the crowd. i looked around at the packed auditorium and everyone was holding either lighters or cell phones, screaming their tails off. it didn't stop for 5 minutes. Tool finally got up and played their encore which was Aenima - one of my all time favorite songs. it was so sweet. maynard gave his scouts honor that they would be back in the spring. i can't wait.
